Hand augers enable fast and reliable soil sampling and investigation of near-surface soil layers. Different auger types and diameters allow the systems to be optimally adapted to various soil types and operating conditions. Manual operation provides maximum flexibility and complete independence from external power sources.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Hand augers are robust and versatile systems for the manual investigation of near-surface soil layers and the collection of soil samples. They are particularly suitable for geotechnical investigations, environmental studies, site investigations, as well as applications in agriculture and research. Thanks to their fully manual operation, the equipment can be used independently of electricity, hydraulics or other external power sources, making it particularly suitable for mobile applications and difficult-to-access locations.
Different auger geometries and diameters are available for various soil types. Depending on the design, cohesive soils such as loam and clay can be investigated as well as sandy, gravelly or mixed soil layers. The geometry of each auger head is adapted to the respective soil characteristics, allowing efficient penetration into the ground and reliable collection and removal of soil material.
The modular system consists of an auger head, extension rods and a handle. Additional extension rods allow the working depth to be increased step by step. The individual components are securely connected by a suitable coupling system and can be quickly disassembled for transport, cleaning or changing the auger head. Different auger heads can be used within the same borehole to adapt to changing soil conditions.
During drilling, the hand auger is advanced into the ground by means of rotary movement and manual downward pressure. After reaching the required drilling interval, the auger is withdrawn and the collected soil material can be directly examined, documented or sampled for further investigation and laboratory analysis. By repeatedly drilling and extending the rod system, soil profiles can be systematically investigated and different soil layers identified.
The simple construction, robust design and low transport weight make hand auger systems a universal tool for soil investigation. A comprehensive range of accessories as well as different auger heads, diameters and rod lengths allows the system to be individually configured according to the specific application and prevailing soil conditions.
